This short walk leads to a lookout over Petre Bay, towards the Red Bluffs.
Description
This short walk has views over Petre Bay including the Waitangi township, Waitangi Wharf and Red Bluffs. On a clear day you can also see the shapes of the volcanic cones to the north.
The walk is clearly signposted and is suitbale for all ages and abilities.
On a nice day the lookout area is an ideal spot for a picnic.
Getting there
From Waitangi, head north past the ANZ bank, and stay on the road that goes above the wharf road. Drive to the end.
Know before you go
Be careful in strong winds as the lookout and track are very exposed.
