Description
The track provides a short walk through Long Beach Recreation Reserve. It is a flat grass track which provides an easy walk for people to stretch their legs.
There are stiles at both entrances to access the track.
Getting there
From Dunedin travel to Port Chalmers. Turn left as you enter Port Chalmers and follow the signs to Long Beach via Blueskin Road, Purakaunui Road and Mihiwaka Road. Drop down into Long Beach via Mihiwaka Road and at the intersection turn right onto Beach Road and drive to the road end where you can park.
Know before you go
The track crosses Dunedin City Council land which has pine trees on it. Be aware of tree fall during periods of high wind.
Tsunami risk
This track is susceptible to tsunami. If a siren sounds or a tsunami alert is received move to higher ground and stay away from the coast until the risk or alert period is over.
