Getting there
To get to Piripiri Hut, travel from Mid Pohangina Hut via the unmarked ridge. This trip should only be attempted by people with good fitness and a high level of experience in navigating and travelling in backcountry and remote areas.
Access to the Ngamoko tops from Piripiri stream through the leather wood is not maintained and overgrown. The stream bed between Piripiri Hut and the Pohangina River crosses private land and permission is required to travel this section.
