No hunting in Mount Nimrod Scenic Reserve from 1 October to 30 April (Easter and Anzac weekends included).

About this hunting block
The reserve covers an area of 142 ha. The main species hunted here are wallaby, fallow deer and the occasional pig.
Note, no firearms are permitted on the easement across private land from Nimrod Reserve to Mt Nimrod (Hunter Hills Conservation Area).
General information
Mt Nimrod Reserve is on the eastern side of the Hunters Hills, 32 km southwest of Tīmaru. The reserve is mixed broadleaf lowland forest on steep incised gullies with tussock and pasture grasslands above. The reserve has an area of 142 ha.
Access
From Tīmaru follow State Highway 1 south for about 10 km. Turn right onto Pareora River Road and follow for 16 km past the Pareora Hut settlement onto Pareora Gorge Road. After 5 km turn left onto Limestone Road, then onto Motukaika Road. Follow for 11 km then turn right at the T-junction onto Back Line Road. After 2 km, turn left into Mt Nimrod Road. Follow the DOC signs and carry straight on into the reserve. Do not turn left as it is a private driveway for Mt Nimrod farm.
Helicopter landings will not be approved.
